| I know that I am not too active anymore, and I am really going out of my way to post this, I think you all should know about the Haiti issue if you don't already. On Tuesday, The Island of Haiti was struck by an earthquake that measured 7.0 on the Richter Scale, Which is out of 10.0 at the highest. Haiti is the poorest country in the Western World, and most of the buildings collapsed. More than 100,000 people are estimated dead, and there are many more missing. People of all races, Black, White, Hispanic, are all pitching in to help as the Haitians go into their fourth night after the terrible disaster. Children and Adults alike are missing under the massive rubble, as well as tourists and natives. Their president is alive, but injured, and their houses of government have all been destroyed. There is no electricity for anything, no radio communications remaining, and no way for the government to do anything. Islanders are frantically searching for friends, family, and loved ones under the rubble. Armies from almost every country are flying in with volunteers to help with the medicine. There is a lack of anesthesia, and the volunteer doctors have to amputate limbs while patients are still conscious. The disaster is comparable with the disaster in New Orleans, five Years ago. It is hard to explain how much the world has been affected by this. Now, I know that I cannot make you pray for the Haitians, and many of you are in fact Atheists, but there are many relief efforts going on during this natural disaster. Video game companies are holding events for donations. You can donate to the Red Cross, or any other nonprofit organizations to aid those in such need. ~Hothead EDIT: On Tuesday, Haiti was hit by an aftershock of 6.1 on the Richter Scale, followed by another aftershock of 5.9. Some who survived the last brush with death have perished in todays quake. EDIT 2: Yesterday, Japan was hit by a 6.something quake, and today, Chilé was hit by an 8.8 quake, sending tsunami waves towards Hawaii. What the hell? is God trying to start over?

| Agreed, this is horrible. A 5.0 is around the devastation of a Nuclear explosion. A 7.0 is around 10 times more powerful. This truly is a horrible thing, and I hope all of you are doing is best as you can to help. We all need to hope that Haiti can make it through this tough time. ~A~ _________________ --- ~-~-~ ~~~ COT ~~~ ~-~-~ --- |

| Haiti was once the richest country in the Western Hemisphere because of its sugarcane exports. However, their luck plumited afterwards, leaving them poorest in a matter of decades. To be honest, in addition to being the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, they also have to be the unluckiest. I am a Catholic Cristian, and I beleive in a just God. My prayers are indeed with the Haitians. _________________ | Quote: | | Infinent imperfection imperfection is all that exists. |

| That's good to know. I've seen people on other forums who are actually so kind, they're GOING to Haiti. And CUBA, and ENEMY of the United States is letting US planes and such actually LAND on Cuba so that they can proceed to Haiti. Youtube, Yahoo, whatever: They're all having fundraisers and such. Just a note on how important this situation is. ~A~ _________________ --- ~-~-~ ~~~ COT ~~~ ~-~-~ --- |

| Hahti is a problem. If I had more time, money or power I would go myself. I myself hate that I am stuck here as it is. We need to do something though, something to remember this time, and those people. I cannot articulate all of what I mean yet. However, in the future if possible I would like to record the names of those who have died in this great tragedy that they may be remembered. |

| And to think that it wasn't even the earthquake that caused most of the tragedy. More deaths occurred after the earthquake, because there wasn't sufficient medical supplies and such.
That's the bigger problem.
And if it had been fixed beforehand? Maybe the death count could have been halved, maybe so many more could have been saved.

| I agree. Life is so strange sometimes that it is our limitations that confine us and only because we do nothing about them sooner. |

| I've already donated a little, and I know someone who's mom gives $200 a month or something for Haiti. Also, they've created these little 15 cent packets that pretty much clean dirty water. ~A~ _________________ --- ~-~-~ ~~~ COT ~~~ ~-~-~ --- |

| You know whats a real shame? While America and Israel are on the ground day after, the US doing search and rescue, setting up shelter and getting a battleship into the area for supplies and fresh water, and Israel sending Musad for search and rescue and setting up the only field hospital, France sits on the side and says that America and Israel are trying to take over. really france? really? screw you, go surrender somewhere else. So people, they need money, meds, hell, anything they can get. so. go here. Please. Donate as much as you can. I've already sent in $100 bucks, and i plan to send in more when i can. common guys, nows not a time to be stingy. _________________ I'm pineapple fresh's sniper Bet cha didnt know, but snipers get more head |
